OECD – Better Life Index
The Better Life Index launched at the 50th anniversary of the OECD aims at comparing the world's quality of life and well-being beyond traditional, material measures like the “Gross domestic product”.
The interactive visualisation enables the user to see how all 34 OECD member countries perform according to the weight he gives to each of the 11 topics currently available – like education, housing, environment, etc. Each country is represented by a flower, each topic by a petal and the length of a petal indicates the score of the respective country in that topic.
Centered around the interactive tool, the website collects all the numerous facts about the 11 topics and their indicators as well as in-depth information and other sources of information about every topic and country combination.
